Hello and welcome.

My name is Morgan. I’m a highly motivated creator. I have a professional background in photography, illustration, 3D and design. Years ago, I began as a graphic artist doing skateboard graphics and logos for companies in San Francisco. Creating prints for skateboards in the age of rubylith and screen printing, gave me a strong understanding of composition, color and print making. After a few years in skateboard graphics, I was hired as Art Director for the international surf brand, Rusty, where I honed a lot of my studio, photography and design skills. I went on to work for several other companies in action sports where I managed small creative teams within the design and merchandising process. My time in the surf industry gave me a great education in design, trend, research and development. My true passion is in story and film, so after several good years in sports and apparel, I began to focus on cinematography, visual story telling and concept art. Now I’m an independent contractor working for various clients. My work ranges from 3D, Photography, Animation, Cinematography and Concept Art. My goal is to find a home working with a film or game company as a generalist, designer or concept artist.

MORE DETAIL

Observation and curiosity are what drive the autodidactically inclined, it’s not so much being self-taught, as it is choosing a self-made curriculum with specific goals in mind. For me that goal has always been to create art in some form or another.

As an art enthusiast and a movie geek, I have been enthralled with film, VFX and the hero’s journey since the age of seven. As a kid of the Blockbuster era, I was raised on Jaws, Star Wars, Alien and King Kong. It was through these films, early on, that I found art. I remember exactly when and where I saw each movie. I also remember the day, many years ago, that I stood in ILM’s Model Vault in San Rafael, CA, awe struck, looking at all of the ships, droids and creatures from my favorite movies. That moment is forever etched in my mind. Throughout my career in art I have worked in film production, action sports, fashion and technology. Each job has been a great learning experience, but they are not the model shop. It’s never too late to follow a dream. Currently, I’m a contractor working on projects for NVIDIA, creating 3D, Animation and Photographic visuals of their incredible GPUs. My passions are Cinematography, Concept Art, Game Art, and Writing. My goal is to work for a Game Studio, Movie Studio or Agency as a generalist, concept artist or other creative role. Learning is a big part of my daily routine. Staying current on techniques and tools keeps me focused and efficient.
